Veena Ramaswamy is currently VP of Strategy at CommonBond, a financial technology company on a mission to give students and graduates more affordable, transparent, and simple ways to pay for higher education. The company offers refinance loans to college graduates, new loans to current students, and a suite of student loan repayment benefits to employees.

At CommonBond, Veena leads strategic partnerships and corporate development. In this capacity, she leads the company's strategic partnerships with financial institutions, including banks and insurance companies. She recently led the company's acquisition of NextGenVest, an AI-based financial advisory platform for Gen Z. Prior to this, she was a General Manager at CommonBond and launched the company's in-school lending program. She joined CommonBond from Morgan Stanley's corporate strategy and M&A group. Veena began her career in the investment banking group at Morgan Stanley, where she worked with universities and municipalities on debt financings for infrastructure projects.

Veena graduated with a B.S. in Economics from MIT, where she was captain of the varsity lightweight women's crew team. She also has an MBA from Harvard Business School. She is a founding member and treasurer of the board of the non-profit, Nursing for All.
